So far, so good

This sock has a nice texture. I copied a pattern from Ravelry. I'll link it when I finish the socks. The inside, which is smooth of course, feels so nice that it's still on my toes a half an hour after taking the picture. Never mind that it's 10 p.m. and 89 degrees outside. It's not 89 degrees inside, thank goodness.
I'm wondering how it would be to rent a car with air conditioning for the summer. There's nothing wrong with the car I have now except for the lack of a/c. It's 16 years old and so I probably should be worried that it's not long for this world, but as I've said, there's nothing wrong with it. Well, it could use an oil change and the muffler's starting to get a bit loud, and there are some cosmetic issues, but that's it. Do I tempt fate? Hope not!

The next project is in keeping with the green theme of '08 and '09. It looks like a sweater sleeve. I'm not saying whether it is or isn't. The round thing in the next picture goes with it.

Ooh! The sock is pretty. And you have piqued my curiousity; is it a sleeve?

Love that sock so far!

You know, the AC went out on the mini-van I usually drive and I spent the $300 or so it cost to get it fixed, because I have become such a wimp, I can't imagine living without it. I like being able to close all the windows so I don't have to hear everyone else's music and enjoy the cool quiet.

Your sock is absolutely gorgeous! And no, Harry is not a dog.
You can read his fairy tale here:

Enjoy it!

oooo, I really like the sock. We've missed you on Mondays.

I'm looking forward to watching your...'sleeve'... turn into something kewl.

Feel free to borrow it. It would make an awfully thin book!

I am glad you enjoyed it!

Love the sock. The second thing I can't entirely figure out... the round bit looks like a tam or a medallion that gets integrated into the sweater. Or it could be anything else, really, except a shawl, because that has no tubular bits.

So what pattern is the sock? It's lovely! My vote on the mystery sleeve is, it's a purse or bag or wine bottle cozy or something of that nature. I love the twirly round part.

Dear Kathy--

I usually spend my winter mornings in my cashmere bathrobe that Roy bought for me 20 years ago. As you might imagine, it's looking pretty ratty, so he bought me a new one last Xmas. In burgundy. It's true, you don't need much else in life besides a cashmere bathrobe and maybe a toothbrush. Unfortunately, once Harry saw it, he wanted it. Now it's his. Sigh. The silk was almost worth it.
