In a recent post I told of my plan to boil down some leftover dyebath into a stronger form. Yeah, well. The bubbles are actually the stainless steel finish. Lesson learned: Gosh, I hope so.
You are right Eryn. There is nothing quite like the smell of smelting. A smell with which I have some familiarity from my childhood. Don't ask. It dissipated pretty quickly as smells go.

The socks look very cozy.
But the dye pot! EEP. Did you forget and let it boil dry? Or is that just what kool-aid does to stainless steel?
I love your no-pattern socks. How does the short-row heel feel?
Eliz. I did forget it and it boiled dry. It was the Monday night Packer game. I guess my fan credentials are now in order, if not my olfactory organs.
Sue. The short row heel feels fine. I did have to do some sewing up of holes at the usual spot on either side.
Did you stink up the house? That's just awful :(

Whoa.
Well, the socks looks good!
